Regulated need
WEEE requirements create a recycling obligation for solar panels when they reach end of life.
RECYCLONUK
Book meeting
RECYCLON UK · SEED ROUND OPEN
A dedicated route for end of life solar panels as repowering accelerates. Recyclon combines a regulated recycling need with a planned recovery model based on gate fees and recovered materials.
For prospective investors. Capital at risk. Projected figures and tax treatment are not guaranteed.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The UK had 22 GW of installed solar capacity in 2026. More than 100,000 tonnes of panels are projected to reach decommissioning by 2030. Solar panels are classified as electronic waste under UK WEEE rules, creating a recycling obligation.
Early UK solar farms from 2010 to 2013 are entering a repowering window. Recyclon is designed to process panels at a dedicated domestic facility rather than rely on fragmented routes.
01
WEEE requirements create a recycling obligation for solar panels when they reach end of life.
02
Older solar farms are being assessed for replacement with higher output modules.
03
Recyclon is planned as a dedicated UK facility for high recovery processing.
THE SOLUTION
The planned facility will use a CE certified processing line designed to process up to 430,000 modules a year with three operators per shift.
